"If you're yearning for a home where the buffalo roam you better move to a different continent."
Matt
and I got into an academic debate over the buffalo/bison anomaly, so we turned
to the only logical source-Wikipedia.
Early
American settlers called the American Bison "bufello," because of
their similarities to true buffalo, found only in Africa and Asia. In
North America, the terms are used interchangeably, because we can't tell the
difference. Foss State Park is home to one of the few remaining herds of American bison.
Our bison are few, we never had any buffalo, and the skies are cloudy here... sorry for the discouraging words.
As for the academic debate Matt and I were having, we were both wrong...but we're still calling them Buffalo. America! Hell Yeah!
